People that wake up everyday to sunshine regardless of the actual weather, whose lives look peachy perfect b/c of their demeanor, whose energies and smiles motivate you or make you want to strangle them...

Or do you?

So you are comparing 30-40 years. At 70 years old, most prople ARE able to go on 3 week vacations so not sure why that is supposed to impress me or anyone else. I am glad that I am not waiting another 30 years to do things And might not be in 100% shape to do them, like you dh whom you have said cant drive at night as he is legally blind, correct? You never know what will happen in life and I personally do not see the need to live so tightly for so many years.

What else does your dh spend money on now that he didnt years ago?

How is this not talking about salary, spending and savings habits, something you said was private.

I'm curious though....what is that you think you are doing at your age that bord did not? What "things" are you talking about?

Given today's world with the banks failing and so forth, do you believe living frugally is wrong? And your commennts about money and saying they have it...works for you as well. :)

This is funny...you know since you are not only posting here as well, but created a new account less than an hour ago to do so.

Bord - As far as I can tell, the problem is that you don't have a flat screen tv with cable oh and you haven't upgraded your kitchen to granite as is the trend.

I hope you enjoy your weekend, Morty. I don't know why you need to get all insulting to me, I really don't. I don't happen to have an exciting, jam-packed weekend planned. I was out of town two weekends ago and had to work last weekend, so I am playing catch up around the house and yard this weekend. I do expect to enjoy it though, thanks. I enjoy a quiet weekend now and again, and I am working in getting the house all ready for the holidays.

I don't have a flat screen tv and who said anything about being a cool girl, There you go making things up, Mountain out of mole hills much? Now granite, I do think that's worth the investment but some people survive just fine without it, My mom's kitchen was her sanctuary and she survived fine without it.

At 70 dad was retired and that IS when he and mom traveled the most, Interesting isn't it. Millionaires they were not but they lived very modestly and had their priorities straight, raising six kids and saving wants for later.

The "cool girl" thing was a joke, Jamblessed. I didn't think anyone would really conclude I was going to run right out and get granite or a new television.

Just wondered. Do you have a problem with sharing that type of info?

I have a problem sharing anything with you. I love my home, though we will probably sell it once we're empty nesters, as it's too big for two.

Loving it and taking care of it are 2 different things.
