People that wake up everyday to sunshine regardless of the actual weather, whose lives look peachy perfect b/c of their demeanor, whose energies and smiles motivate you or make you want to strangle them...

Or do you?

Again....like what?

I guess you missed when I said things that would be physical and mental that you might not be able to do when you are older.

I'm sorry, I didn't know you knew my finances. lol

Our mortgage used to be in the neighborhood of $1300 a month, but we usually tried to pay at least $1500, and some months $2000 or more. We were fortunate and able to pay our mortgage off in six years.

Well, JamBlessed, I think that adjective pretty much describes our family's lifestyle. We have been quite careful and deliberate about spending money and acquiring things. We waste very little, often buy second-hand. We seldom go out to eat unless we are traveling. We do have some splurges, now that our savings/investment goals are pretty much met. We used to spend about 30% of our income a year. A few years ago it hit about 40%, not including college expenses.

Sorry to hear that you needed to be so frugal for so many years that others could accomplish when they were younger.

Faulty memory again.  See, I told bord that a television was involved!

How much was your home when you purchased it?

I kind of like that my paid off home is worth twice as much as you said your, apparently not paid off, home is worth. Admitedly, I am 15 yrs older, so you may catch up.

2k was not a big deal in our take home, though it is nice to have now that we have college expenses.

Somehow I really doubt you've accomplished in terms of savings/investments what we'd accomplished by the time we were your combined ages, Fall. But go ahead and be "sorry" if it makes you feel better.

Really?  I don't remember that, I might have said your comments sound like jealousy, but then passive agressive insult usually tend to sound that way.   Given that you use quite a number of words to insult others, are you saying those are close to you?  Interesting, I will remember that the next time you call me lovely names as you did in another thread.

What do you know of my life, Jamblessed? I think you are hung up on our travel, maybe not realizing that much of our travel is work-related. We really don't live high on the hog.

2000.00 a month for a mortgage is a lot no matter what.

It depends.  For a 20 million dollar house, $2000 is not a lot.  For a 10 year mortgage versus a 30 year one, not a lot either.  It would also depend on the salary of the family, for some it's a lot and some it's not.

Differences...are....beautiful!

Again, you make it sound like careful and prudent spending is a bad thing, lol.
