For your kids do you make sure to spend the same amount of money and get the same amount of gifts?

Awww...so fun. This is our first year *not* visiting Santa. I was feeling a little sad about it until I saw the line at the mall the other day...;)

Ds9's birthday is January 4th so I usually have to keep that list going too.

Yep, individual items for us have included hot wheels, legos, a rattle (obviously for babies), hair accessories, kitchen gadgets for dh and I, pens/pencils, gloves, socks, beads (dd's getting jewels this year, for her cell phone), book marks, book lights, candles....

"I keep an Excel spreadsheet of my kids' Christmas wishes and for each kid, I keep track of what they want, what I bought, how much it costs, whether it was ordered and has arrived, etc. That enables me to make sure there is some sort of balance as well as keep track of how much I have spent so I don't go overboard."

Bwahahahah!
I do the same thing, and dh makes fun of me, lol. In my6 defense, it's also birthday season, so the chart helps me keep from going completely over board, keeps it relatively even, and keep birthdays special, not combined with Christmas.

I usually do stuff like socks, underwear, chapstick, toiletries, a token candy item, books, etc - it just adds up when you have a huge stocking to fill!
