For your kids do you make sure to spend the same amount of money and get the same amount of gifts?

Yes, in your case i do know what you mean. however, as for my dh...we have spent pretty darn close to equal amounts of money on all four. The older kids have bigger ticket items then the younger kids so they do have less gifts

In our house, Santa brings one big gift for each kid, then they each get three gifts from Mom and Dad.

I also have a spread sheet it keeps things much more organized.

Stocking stuffers is what i have left and it really can burst the budget and get expensive. Stocking stuffers this year for the 14, 12 and 10 year old...is going to be some personal things they need...deod, body spray, hair stuff , gel, brushes, soaps, shower gels, toothbrushes...stuff like that all three have perticulars when it come to personal hygiene...

I have a spreadsheet too.

All I have left for my kids is stocking stuff too.

I still have to get one more small thing for each brother, and I have no idea what to get my sister and her husband. B ut I have the bulk of stuff done.

That is what my mom does. It has worked out really well that way.

If older kids are getting a "big" present then I would not get them equal amount as younger kids.

I do stockings for each of the boys and there are some traditional items in them each year including: a book, chapstick, and usually something funky that ends up being the hit and I never know what it's going to be from year to year.

Try cards or card games and I've also done magazines and stuffed animals.

Ear buds, I've done those as well.
