I know this is going to come off selfish when so many others have true problems today (and every day) that I could not imagine dealing with but I thought this may be a fun thread.

My dish problem on Christmas is that I only have just enough plates for dinner and nothing else. So, if I'm using a plate for cookies or whatever, I have to find something else to put the cookies in and wash and dry the plate. I think next year, I'm going to buy a whole bunch of extra plates in red and green to use for Christmas dinner.

My mom has some really neat Twas the Night Before Christmas plates that she always uses for Christmas eve dinner. They are really nice.

I only had 8 for Christmas Eve dinner but I have enough plates for more than that as I got 2 identical sets of plates for my bridal shower.

That's really cool. I wish my sister was staying in town permanently. She has Fiestaware, too, so I could borrow some place settings! Although I'm kind of excited at the idea of having red and green alternating plates next year. I just use plain white glasses, but it might be fun to mix it up. Wine red glasses sound fabulous.

I am thankful every holiday that I live near family.

Somebody told me they had nice Christmas china, and after the family grew, they couldn't add to it. I guess they got some of the Fiestaware red plates and serving dishes, and they said it was a really nice complement to the china (and they felt more comfortable giving those to the kids).

Funny, I just saw this. I guess you already know about the Fiestaware red plates.

It was kind of annoying when we lived in IL to use all of our vacation time to visit family on Thanksgiving and Christmas (or at least that's what it felt like). I'm really glad most everyone lives here (well, except my sister in a few months :( ) It doesn't feel like Christmas w/o a big holiday meal.
