I was reading about the Kansas City Secret Santa today and thought how much fun that would be. It made me start thinking what I would do if I had 40k to spare. So here are some questions.

1. If you had unlimited amounts of money, what type of Random Acts of Kindness would you do? At Christmas or otherwise.

2.

My own answers:

1. I have two I would like to do. One would be to give cashiers at grocery stores and toy stores gift cards in not very large amounts--say $250--and little cards that say something along the lines of use what you need, leave the rest for someone else, add to it if you can, and see how long it would last. Would the first person use it all--would they leave some, add some? The other would be to fill Santa sacks with age-appropriate gifts and all the fixings for a good meal, and have a guy in a Santa suit deliver one to every house in a neighborhood with a high number of low-income households on Christmas Eve.

There are two biggies that I can think of, locally.

Your #1...I was thinking about this, how we all have that one (or two) special things that we give our time and money to. And some of the things that you might consider to be important, never even cross my mind....

I just want to add...We like to do things locally, so that our kids have something tangible to relate to. Imo, it's relatively easy to write a check once a year, and feel like you've done your good deed... But it's completely different when you can see what the need is, and then see how your contribution makes a difference.

Bwahahaha.

Your story remeinded me of one...I have no idea where he got it from, but we can't tell ds4 a "secret". If you ask him about secrets he will tell you "secrets are for telling". If we want something to be a surprise, we have to use the term *surprise*, not secret, lol.
