I was reading about the Kansas City Secret Santa today and thought how much fun that would be. It made me start thinking what I would do if I had 40k to spare. So here are some questions.

1. If you had unlimited amounts of money, what type of Random Acts of Kindness would you do? At Christmas or otherwise.

2.

How awful was that! Books are some of the best presents I receive on holidays. (Not to mention how many I give). I think the worst part of that video was the parents' reaction.

"As well you should be. Some people are happier even if they have nothing to criticize but the way other people choose to be charitable (and see, you're even being charitable in giving people something to criticize, lol!). "

You hit that one right on the head.

Sorry but I will criticize when people go on and on about donating and they really do not know WHAT is done with their donations. Shrug.

I'm fairly sure everyone here knows exactly how their donations are being used.

To be clear, my kids understand the message and honestly I hope their feelings would be on target with the message and not with gift giving only on Christmas.

Thank you for asking that question.

I think it's really nice that they are able to do something with clothing that is not fit for people to wear anymore. I've heard horror stories about the kinds of items people donate to charity organizations.

And honestly, it's kind of like Goodwill. Their clothes are cheap, but often you can find new clothes on clearance for cheaper. The really charitable work is in the profit they get from the things they sell that go to support the poor.
