I was reading about the Kansas City Secret Santa today and thought how much fun that would be. It made me start thinking what I would do if I had 40k to spare. So here are some questions.

1. If you had unlimited amounts of money, what type of Random Acts of Kindness would you do? At Christmas or otherwise.

2.

Has anyone even said they donate by placing the clothes into these "bins"?

Or that someone imagines that his used clothes are so super special that the needy should bow down at his feet for being so kind as to give them away.

I have heard stories of people buying clothes at thrift stores and selling them at garage sales or buying at garage sales and selling on ebay.

MIL told me that there's a bin like this somewhere in the area. And they specifically advertised that the clothes could be in poor condition. I've never donated there though.

When I worked for a company (let's call it CN [lauren you may know them, lol]) in Norfolk, my coworker went to Russia (St. Petersburg I think). She came back with a really cool picture ... of a "needy" Russian woman with a CN shirt on! It was one of our company baseball team shirts.

Turns out that the sporting goods company (local) that printed our shirts sends all the "rejects" to a charitable organization that sends them overseas to distribute via shelters and centers.

Really really cool.
