I was reading about the Kansas City Secret Santa today and thought how much fun that would be. It made me start thinking what I would do if I had 40k to spare. So here are some questions.

1. If you had unlimited amounts of money, what type of Random Acts of Kindness would you do? At Christmas or otherwise.

2.

I figure once I give something away, it isn't mine anymore, and I really have no claims on how it will be used. *shrug*

While that might be your experience or your friends experience....that isn't what has been discussed in this thread, to my knowledge. Outside of the tradition started with Jesus of three gifts, I don't really know anyone who has kids used to a "certain number of gifts".

I think I said something about one less present to give to someone who only has one present and if you find that horrible, so be it. Of course I also didn't think anyone said that specifically is what teached kids to give, but more that its part of walking the walk not just talking about giving.

But then again I'm happy to be different in this situation as well. Happy. :)

It seems to me that these organizations resell in US thrift or overseas secondhand markets, convert to them to usable and rags, or sell them to companies that can turn them into new fibers.

Anything that keeps them out of landfills is good: reuse, repurpose, recycle. And its even better that the money is going to charitable organizations.
