I was reading about the Kansas City Secret Santa today and thought how much fun that would be. It made me start thinking what I would do if I had 40k to spare. So here are some questions.

1. If you had unlimited amounts of money, what type of Random Acts of Kindness would you do? At Christmas or otherwise.

2.

to be honest I got a little defensive but then I do that when someone starts complaining loudly about people working for nonprofits getting you know...paid and stuff...

"Our buying a toy for less fortunate children is not done at the expense of gifts for our children but is an extension of our love of our children to include all children. Besides what is buying one toy for one other child compared to what God gave us in the birth and death of his Son? Any sacrifice on our part pales in comparison. "

Well said. ITA.

I can understand being defensive about how people can't grasp that yes, people who work for nonprofits are paid, I can't believe anyone doesn't get that basic logic, but you know, I've been surprised before about the inability to grasp simple concepts.

But I really didn't see more than one or two specific posters get defensive about their charitable giving turning this wonderful thread into something not wonderful.

Oh man, now that is a bummer. The one I go to all the time is really cold, I think it keeps some of that stuff at a minimum.
