That's why we hang on to our land line aswell.

I need to have (another) talk with one friend. She's a bit rough around the edges, so I've been putting it off, but it's really starting to get to me, so I need to address it. She has a private number, doesn't show in caller id. I don't answer private numbers on my home phone. So, she will call my cell. My *boss* has a private number, and nine times out of ten, when a private number shows up on my cell, it's him...so I've gotten to where I answer. Well, more and more, it's my firend calling. We've talked about how I don't like calls on my cell, and her response has been "well, you don't ever answer your home phone." I had forgotten at that point, about her private number....Now, she even calls my cell to make appointments with my boss. I've asked her to call the office, but she continues to call my cell. It's time to put my foot down!

We just gave up our land line when we got our new cell phones. I transferred our home number to my cell phone. I was worried that I'd get tons of telemarketing calls and such, but it hasn't been a problem yet.

ITA with you. My mother gets furious with me when i have my phone ff or when i am unable to answer. She wants to know why have a cell phone if your not going to answer it. I try to explain to her, i do not always have it on or with me for example when iam in the "bank" or post office..etc, i will leave it in the car and sometimes will not turn it back on until iam done with my errands. Makes her mad.

BUT then she will complain bout ppl on their cell phones chatting in public. It makes me crazy.

That's your youngest, right? I'm not looking forward to the day when they both know that they get their gifts from us.
