Inspired by the pestering in the monster thread, What is a close relationship to you?  Is there any such thing as being too close?  Are you close to your spouse/so?  Your children?  Your parents?  Your friends?  Is there an ideal image of close..  If so what does that look like?

I know, Lots of questions...  Play or pass..

You are welcome. And yes, it's beautifully obvious you use humor to get through things which I love about you!

Most of mine are too but I do get into things at times. These are my friends, the ones who support me and back me up or help me out. I don't think twice about many things in my life.

I do not travel with graduate students "for fun." It is when we are attending conferences together. I get reimbursed for the cost of my room, but usually they do not. A single and double are often the same price, so I can get a room with two queens and the student can use the extra bed for free.

Interesting that you call it pestering but decided to create a thread on the same subject, to what?  Pester all?

I think a close relationship is an individual thing, there isn't a universal description and comparsion to someone elses relationship is silly.   Yes, there is such a thing as being too close, but again it can vary.  Yes, I would say that I'm close to my spouse, my children and my parents.  Friends, I have many different types of relationships with friends from friendly/polite to best friend/close/tell them anything.  I think the only ideal image is the one that matters most to the person.

I should have just read ahead and said ditto.

I would think that would be the same with many if not most relationships.  You have said this a couple of times now, do you think close only means knowing every detail?

I think relationships go through phases too, there have been times when I haven't been as close to my sibling as before and times when I have been closer.
