A school district in MA is considering offering condoms to students as young as 12, they are seeing sexual activity, STDs and pregnancy affecting kids even at this age.

That wasn't MY logic. I didn't ever state that passing out condoms meant the school and those supporting the program condoned 12yos having sex. You and others did.

Yes, and it does nothing to address the underlying problem and may not even address the problem you're worried about, which is right where we started.

No, by your logic, if me not supporting passing out condoms to 12-yr-olds mean I support them having unprotected sex, then you passing out condoms to 12-year-olds means you condone them having sex.

No, as I've stated several times. My point is this: If I'm in support of 12yos - who are having sex - using condoms means I'm in support of 12yos having protected sex, then if you are not in support of 12yos - who are having sex - using condoms, then you must be in support of 12yos having unprotected sex. Right?

I know it's not because it hasn't helped the teen pregnancy rate. And if the kids are really using the condoms, why isn't the pregnancy rate down? Let's face it, you and I becoming aware of the problem in another community doesn't help that community. I'm not going to go there and help them solve the problem, and neither are you, right? Whether passing out condoms can help the problem depends on how you define the problem. If you see the problem as STDs and teen pregnancy, not 12-yr-olds having sex, condoms can help--IF 12-hr-olds will plan ahead, learn how to use them correctly, and ask the school nurse for them. I see the problem as 12-yr-olds having sex, so I don't see that giving out condoms is going to help.

How do you know that?

As Savcal has previously stated, it will prevent some 12yos from getting stds and avoid pregnancy. I'm sure teh Springfield School Committee would love your help in fixing the problem.

Do you condone 12-year-olds having sex?

I think that if car manufacturers were selling cars to 12-year-olds, it wouldn't be enough for them to say they couldn't prevent the kids from driving, but had done all they could to mitigate the damage by putting air bags on the cars.

I don't think the issue is a rich or poor one either, I do think there would more voices againt this in a higher SES community though, Do you disagree?

About resources, Who pay for these... Do you know? Does PP donate them?
