A school district in MA is considering offering condoms to students as young as 12, they are seeing sexual activity, STDs and pregnancy affecting kids even at this age.

Then you agree with me that it is possible to prevent a 12-yr-old from having sex. Now we're getting somewhere.

I think your reasoning is specious.

Pray tell, what community has done that?

Clearly, the very presence of a condom is an admission of having given up.

Why would I need to demonstrate that, when I was clearly speaking about "a child," not her child? My point was that, as I suggested in previous posts, there are things school districts can do to supervise kids, too. I don't get the need to make fun of that idea.

You haven't talked about school supervising kids, you've talked about them prevening teen sex. Not the same thing at all.

Not true. You asked me what schools could do to prevent 12-year-olds from having sex, and here's what I said, several times: "There are lots of things you can do: supervised after school programs, mentoring programs, more counselors to address social issues, sex education, parenting classes, etc". You alternated between telling me these things were too expensive and saying I couldn't know for sure this school wasn't already doing those things.

Are you ok with kids engaging in sex on school premises too? Because IMO, That is exactly the message conveyed if schools dispense condoms... And we, as a society already deal with a lot of social issues so I don't know what point you're trying to make there, I object to schools passing out condoms to 12 YOs.

I don't see how that would be the message conveyed.

Home, friends house, park...off the top of my head, I think though if two tweens were determined, they would find a place and I think the last place would be at school.

Why would it make more sense to deal with the consquences of the risky behaviors than to make the behavior less risky?
