In an effort to make food in schools healthier, some school districts have actually banned cupcakes at school birthday celebrations.

My MIL also has high cholesterol. She is about 100 pounds, eats hardly any fat, no red meat, and exercises all the time. When she had her cholesterol tested, she got a letter back from the insurance company telling her to eat less and exercise more. It was hilarious, because honestly, she couldn't possibly eat less or exercise more. What did help, was actually to increase her fat intake-- she started eating walnuts on her salads and using light dressing instead of fat free. It helped her good cholesterol go up and her bad cholesterol go down.

It depends on the nature of the sweetener. If the sweetener is a natural sweetener, such as grapes or pineapple, then no, because the nature of it is no different than of the natural sugars in the apple itself.

and of course, neither cinnamon nor lemon juice could be considered a sweetener.

it's just cupcakes!! why punish the little ones because there are overweight kids??? same thing with school vending machines---what we have is ricecakes!!!when some ppl don't have time for breakfast, 90 calorie ricecakes don't do the trick. and about the cupcakes, how about the parents bring in little toys instead of cupcakes or talk to the school board about cupcakes. omg, "i will make sure that school in America, cannot bring in cupcakes!! duh duh duh!!" why don't parents make healthier cupcakes with flax seed and fiber and stuff? then they should be allowed!!

History repeats itself right??? do you remember in the 70's when everyone was like, whoa!! we shouldn't eat anything that has sugar, carbs or fat???!! we are just repeating history by making up terrible excuses to indulge. if you teach your kids to make healthier eating habits, then a cupcake won't freaking hurt them..their kids!! homestly they say no cupcakes in school because it's not healthy. LOOK AT THE SCHOOL LUNCHES!!! chicken nuggets, mac n cheese and popcorn chicken. none are healthy and my kids school lunch price went from 1.25 to $1.75 for less food and actually NOT HEALTHY FOOD!! they claim to be healthy and if children are overweight it's their own childrens desicions when they leave school or buy school luches, thats the problem. don't let active healthy kids suffer because of overweight ones that make bad desicions on food. i betcha the school thinks that if they ban cupcakes, charge more on "healthier food" and give less lunch, that a kid will say, wow!!!! this put such a dent into my life that I will go home and eat healthier!!! NO!!!! THEY WILL PROBABLY SKIP THE CRAPPY OVERPRICED LUNCHES AND GO HOME TO JUNK FOOD!!!!! trust me, i have seen many do that. no matter what, there is gonna be overweight people. Look, I am 15 i know what i am talking about school lunches and cupcakes (i want to be a chef) and wow, you have a cupcake at school, then bring a healthy lunch, eat that, go home to a good snack then have a healthy dinner. some people say, "i don't have time to cook".....listen to my life...... I am 15,98LBS,4FOOT 8INCHES AND I WAS TOLD BY THE SCHOOL THAT I WAS 33LBS OVERWEIGHT. IT MAKES KIDS MORE CONCIOUSS ABOUT WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE AND HOW MUCH FAT THEY HAVE INSTEAD OF WHO THEY ARE. IF ANYONE HAS GROWN UP TO BE THE LOSER FAT KID, THEY KNOW HOW MUCH SELF ESTEEM THEY DON'T HAVE BECAUSE OF NOT BEING PERFECT.It ruins their lief!!! I HAVE a two year old daughter, go to highschool, cook for my parents , do chores, do homework, study, tend a garden, decorate for seasons, holidays and plan parties. i am so sure that a child can enjoy their birthday at school, share cupcakes and not gain anything because they eat healthier throughout the day and get plenty of excersize. PARENTS STOP TRYING TO BLAME FOOD FOR YOUR OVERWEIGHT KID AND BLAME YOURSELVES, YOUR GENES OR SOMETHING ELSE STUPID. STOP PROMOTING PERFECTIONISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!man, i should run in office!!lol

First of all, I realize that it's the nature of 15-year-olds but please, don't scream.
