I've been thinking about the recent discussion about "opinions" and the Imus case comes to mind as an example, an extreme example for sure...but an example none the less.

Here's a link to one of the many stories about this issue

huh? i happen to see a ceo as the most qualified in the company and sometimes, they just happen to be white men. sort of like sah is a role that just happens to made up of mostly women. right?"

Sometimes? Try 95% of the time in the F1000. And you think that's just *cause* they happen to be more qualified than the other 50% of the population; women; and more than any other person of color almost always? Please....

martha stewart. "

Martha Stewart is one of the less than 5% and look at her career path, rise, fall, and rise again. Its hardly a typical career track and it took breaking out against huge odds. She's an anomoly.

"i don't believe he's the racist in this latest escapade."

You don't believe calling black women nappy headed ho's is racist? Its racist, and sexist by definition. It doesnt matter what you believe. You could believe Santa is the President of the United States, but its not true.

No one should have to go back several threads to understand what you are writing. You should maybe try to be more specific. More than one person responded to your statement the same way I did. In fact I think it was 3 people. So I am not sure why you are sighing. If you want others to understand what you write be more specific.

No they werent taken out of context. Even if we were having a direct conversation about Imus, and you asked me if people should have no reprecussions when they say things I would have answered the same way. YOU changed the context when you wrote people.

Sure. However I dont think making blonde jokes is laughing at anyone. I love those new Hairapy commercials between blondes and brunettes. It is hilarious.

Ah of course, it's my fault that the line of conversation is not being followed.

If you are equating nappyheaded ho and the N word it would be you that needed the dictionary.

Lets post the definition here:

racist
adjective
1. based on racial intolerance; "racist remarks"
2. discriminatory especially on the basis of race or religion

Nappyheaded and ho are NOT racist remarks.

<<>>

If I used the N word by itself, NO. If it were used like: You are ignorant like all N, then that would be a racist comment. For what it is worth, I dont like the N word. I think it is a nasty word. It puzzles me that the black community uses this word, and buys CD's where rappers use this word. I dont understand it at all.

<<>>

See above. Nappy headed is something you are. I am nappy headed. I dont see what is wrong with that. The term HO is sexist to many. I think it is stupid. Although I will say that those girls have every right to be mad at the Ho comment.

Here is the topic of conversation:

Post #1 I've been thinking about the recent discussion about "opinions" and the Imus case comes to mind as an example, an extreme example for sure...but an example none the less.

Note that I am talking about Imus as an example of extreme opinions.
