I've been thinking about the recent discussion about "opinions" and the Imus case comes to mind as an example, an extreme example for sure...but an example none the less.
Here's a link to one of the many stories about this issue

As I stated, rap artists may be racists, they may not be racists, I have not chosen to explore this subtheme at this time. It is not related to the Imus issue at hand, but it may be an interesting subthread that some may wish to pursue. The fact that you want to inject rappers into whether Imus is a racist does not mean I have to respond in kind - I will continue to pursue the subject of the main thread.

Yes it does relate. You are calling Imus a racist for using what you call a racist remark. Rappers use the N word all the time, and this has been called a racist remark.

It's not a mistake on my part, the op clearly states that Imus was an example of what I was talking about.

I think a lot of things are funny. The fact that Blonde jokes is an issue for you is funny.
I am so with you on that.
It is a tangential point in the Imus debate. Imus represents the case for institutional racism, rappers are definitely something else, definitely debatable in some context. You may wish to explore this in the "taking back language" subthread. It is not a pertinent point in the Imus debate, it is a red herring to the main thread at hand.
Why - he made racist comments and apologized for them. Why do I have to apologize, please enlighten?
