I've been thinking about the recent discussion about "opinions" and the Imus case comes to mind as an example, an extreme example for sure...but an example none the less.

Here's a link to one of the many stories about this issue

ah,but typical table conversation can very well be candor about religion, race and physical appearnce......and i'll tell you what,i'd rather sit on the bench with the one who accepts it with laughter and smiles than the quickly offended one who gets bent out of shape at the mention of blonde moment or catholic guilt. don't you agree?

Well then I guess there really is no reason to state it was a blonde moment when one is clumsy, yet you have stated that you have.

Doesn't that perpetuate stereotypes about boys?

Not talking about candor either, but laughing at others about their religion, race and physical appearance.

Let me get this straight, someone who is offended by laughing comments about anothers race, religion or physical appearance is getting bent out of shape?

Honestly, I would rather sit on a bench with someone who isn't interested in making negative comments about others and finds laughter and smiles in things other than someone's religion, race and physical appearance.

You think so?

I have found a great number of them to be actual experiences in my life and/or children of my friends, which is why I have found them funny....after cleaning up the mess.
