I've been thinking about the recent discussion about "opinions" and the Imus case comes to mind as an example, an extreme example for sure...but an example none the less.

Those are funny. I'm sure, if I had the time you do, I could find numerous of the opposite opinion. Fact is, it, like the "act a victim" comment from you earlier are...irrelevant. Fact is his comments were racist. Fact is, he was fired and there was overwhelming pressure put on the station for that end result.

"So you condemn those rappers that use degoratory words and call them racists againest other black people? Is this correct?"

I don't "condemn" them. I disagree with the message and its not okay to denegrate black women whether its coming from a black man, or a white man.

Depends on the joke. I love the silly comment on those hair product commercials about blondes and brunettes. Very funny.

Yes I agree context is very *very* important. I think any reasonably intelligent person would agree with that.

I don't think its OK for black men to dengrate black women though. I wouldnt have thought that say Montel using this term on his show would be well received either. But its even more outrageous coming from a white man. The power chasm is as big as it gets; and; history....

So which is it? Racial slur or racist comment?

<<>>

What does that have to do with anything?

<<>>
