Here's a link to one of the many stories about this issue

I doubt that the entire board will get involved in analyzing the statement. You are still free not to.

That is irrelevant as nappy-headed has been used to insult African Americans for decades. On what basis do you come to the conclusion that nappy-headed is not derogatory? Just because you and your hair stylist say so? I think I'll go with the most authoritative English language dictionary.

It is different to be derrogatory about oneself than it is to be derrogatory about other people. I can call myself fat, but calling someone else fat crosses a line.(Just an example, I am not fat.)

I know. I just think that ultimately the joke is on the one doing the rhyming.

If you cant comprehend the difference between a stomping of the foot chanting he said it too, and the hypocrisy I have shown you numerous times (with a link from a black man) then I cant help you.

<<>>

No it isnt. Refer to dictionary.

<<>>

Thanks for the recap.

<<>>

I would agree with you that he has had a very colorful past with respect to slamming people.

<<>>

Still not racist. Most people think it was wrong that he was fired.

<<>>

Doesnt mean what he said was racist.

<<>>

You know I wish it were. We have 2 vehicles with XM radio. I will have to make sure I know what channel he will be on in the near future. Hopefully it will be near Stern's so I can just jump over them at the same time.

Nappyheaded is not derogatory. I have already stated why I believe it isnt derogatory. Nappy is another word for kinky.

I'll repeat my question . . .

On what basis do you come to the conclusion that nappy-headed is not derogatory? Just because you and your hair stylist say so?
