I've been thinking about the recent discussion about "opinions" and the Imus case comes to mind as an example, an extreme example for sure...but an example none the less.
Here's a link to one of the many stories about this issue

And again I will say to you that nappy means kinky. Now will you answer my question? Let me post it again here for you.
So if someone calls you brownheaded ho does brownheaded become an insult? What if they call you kinky haired ho? Does kinky become an insult?

On what basis do you come to the conclusion that nappy-headed means *just* kinky-headed? Do you not believe that words carry certain connotations?

If there were decades of precedent of "brown-headed" or "kinky-headed" being used derogatorily towards a certain race, yes. But since there is not . . .
Why do you think the Oxford English Dictionary included "US Slang (derogatory)" in its definition of nappy-headed?
Nope - can't see it. Imus was fired on his comments alone, it had nothing to do with rappers. Still a debatable point, but different issue.
I think we're going to have a tomato, tomahto one on this. And I'll going to agree with the Rutgers team and Imus rather than you.
I have no vehicles with satellite radio and probably never will. If Imus gets picked up, he will have a challenge to get back his stature that he cultivated in the political community - He won't get the same guests, he won't get the same audience, and he will definitely watch what his says. He's is 66, so I think its unlikely that we will see him back in anyway near his former prominence.
Nope - still a strawman, because you "point" is logially indefensible. But, illogically, go for it.
