If you work in an office, you're probably familiar with frustrating moments like these: The copier runs out of ink, the phone system goes haywire, or the printer jams.

Well, it turns out there's a good way to deal with that frustration: swearing. At least according topsychologists at England's Keele University, who found that expressing profane feelings is good for you.

The video is bad, but this is one of my favorites. I love the phrase "metric fuckton".

You must be lying because you don't have cable.

If this is true, then the recent radical changes in my company have made us much, much healthier.

;)

And BTW, I totally believe it.

Oh Marla.  Before you go one step further on the educational path you are on, you must watch "The Wire."  All five seasons.  I have a list of my top fifteen favorite scenes.  Most of them have "spoilers" in them.  Here's my #3, though, no spoilers.   It kind of sums up the whole series.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whwawZ1YoOc

The only reason that these words have power is because people believe that they do.

I understand minding your language when you're in certain social situations, but otherwise I've never heard a compelling argument against swearing. Usually the people who find offense do so arbitrarily. Like, they don't swear because someone else told them thaat they shouldn't. I could care less if people curse or not, but if you want a reason that I can respect, tell me you've thought it through instead of following someone else's little book of life instructions.
