I just made a batch of chocolate chip cookie bars and one of butterscotch chip cookie bars.

The real "inspiration" for this was that one of The Girl's friends is coming over this afternoon to help The Boy with a tough rhythm in is solo (trumpet) piece.  So I'm making her cookies, and she's staying for dinner (shrimp fried rice).

LOL, I baked chickpeas with some sliced, browned sausage and a load of veggies + crushed tomato and ... wine (the essence of all sauce, after all). For "salad" we had steamed artichokes, except dh was too full to eat his, so I had two.

Well, the sausage dip was a huge hit--and I still came home with half a crockpot full of it.  :)  I'm going to be eating it over pasta for dinner tonight :)

Aww...how sweet of her friend!

The food talk entered my thoughts last night too, I was at a party with lots of nibbles and such, and not one person said anything about my choices on my plate!

One tubey thingie of pork sausage. You can go with hot if you like--I go with regular because of my heartburn issues.

One 8 oz package of cream cheese, cut into small cubes.

One can of Ro-Tel (or any canned tomatoes with chiles)

In a 12" skillet, brown the sausage; use a spatula or other kitchen tool to break it into smallish pieces as it browns.  Drain the fat. Reduce the heat to medium (if you browned the sausage at a higher heat), and add the cream cheese, stirrinjg it all around while it melts.  Once the cream cheese is melty and there aren't noticeably clumps of cream cheese, add the Ro-Tel (liquid and all) and stir it all up, being sure to heat it all through.

Serve with tortilla chips.

I had that at a party a few months ago and loved it.  At around the same time, GAB had it at a party and loved it.  So, we had to make some ourselves.  It's yummy!

I made some awesome Chicken Marsala last night.  So good... and I had bought Italian bread to have with it & totally forgot about it.  So for dinner tonight I looked around and decided to make some soup to have with the bread.  Made a chicken vegetable soup, sauteed maushrooms onion & garlic and a few other veggies I had around.  Used frozen homemade chicken broth and frozen herbs I had cut from my garden this fall.

And that sausage dip sounds too delicious for me to make!  That's the kind of thing I would make and then sit & eat it all myself....
