i tend to use faith and church interchangeably, but i can understand removing yourself from a church but not losing your faith.

I will be more specific.

To me, faith is a deeply personal relationship between a person and their God.

Church is a tool used, to help facilitate one's faith.

When my older son was a toddler our congregation had gotten in the habit of sining "On Eagle's Wings" as a benediction song. So one Sunday about halfway through services he was clearly bred & whispered to me, "When is this going to be over?" So I say, "You"ll know it's almost over when we sing the "Eagle's Wings" song. So about five minutes later he stands up in the pew and, in his loudest little baby voice he starts belting out "And God will raise you up on eagle"s wings...."
