It may or may not have been a medical problem, or it may or may not be in the future. Obesity is a risk factor for everything from breast cancer to heart disease. As she gets older, extra pounds put stress on joints like knees and hips. Or she may be perfectly healthy and carrying around fifty extra pounds, who knows?

DD goes to Karolyi's camp each summer, and in 2008 it just happened to overlap with the olympic gymnasts being there.

seriously? That's ridiculous!! Now they are telling us what to feed our kids, and the list goes on and on. I am sorry but I don' think that will work in getting kids to lose weight. My son is on the chunky side, i am not, my husband is, my girls are not. We eat pretty well, i do work but I am able to cook dinner each night, and on weekends my husband cooks. We get take out rarely. I feel my son needs to be active, i encourage him to play outside when he gets home from school, and he is in cross country this year. I am oing what i can to get him healthy. If the school wants to point that out, I'll point back it's none of their business! If they want to bother the police and make a report I would apologize to the police and say sorry for wasting your time!! We seriously don't need this as a nation, we need the government out of our lives, what else are they going to do? It's getting very scary out there!

Again, no it's not....as I have stated many times, there were clearly two different forms and children change greatly even in the same year.

This is a good example, one of the treatments for bedwetting at night is retention control during the day and while a school may not demand that information, I can certainly see sharing the information with a teacher.

Really, since these people are caring for my children during the day for 7+ hours, I don't have a problem providing them with detailed written medical records and if you do, then don't.

All of my posts were talking about the extremes and in those cases, I do believe the school should be involved.

If the school is going to spend the time/money to do such a screening, I would hope that they would do something with the information...even if it made a few parents unhappy.
