The only thing I read about people feeling blessed about was for having friends that would help them out in times of need & feeling blessed for that. I agree about having family nearby that you want to live by--that is a blessing too. When you live away from family it is so wonderful if you have friends that you can count on like family.

What, to have children who dawdle? Or to have cell phone service in our garage?

I don't usually shop in them either, unless I'm absolutely desperate, but that's only because they're Food Lions and Food Lion is nasty.

ROFL, I already have children that dawdle!!!!! Who doesn't? Oops I shouldn't have asked, I'm sure I'll be told now that someone in a superior work status has children that don't dawdle of course!!!

No I meant the cell phone service in your underground garage! And don't you live in a house . . . and you have an underground garage? Very cool!

"<>

I have mentioned it a couple of times in this thread in reference to that point..."

I guess I missed it.

"<>

Oh, due to various reasons (surgery of a family member and stay, birth of a friends child, er visits, friends and so forth# I have."

Seems like a lot as these things only sound like one or two day deals.

"<>

Where did I say that I was worried? I'm fully aware, as I have stated many times, I am not always available #the reason I have a network), so therefore I don't worry."

That's great then.

"<>

No"

Why not?

"10-15 for the shower, can't hear the phone."

Not too long if there was an emergency, in my opinion.

"<>

I don't know about you, but a great number of these things is not a few minutes of not getting hold of me, thus the reason that I have a network."

10-15 mins. in a shower is not a "few minutes"? A drive a couple of miles that does not allow cellphone service is not a "few minutes"?

What I think is a little over the top is to claim that a working status or non-working status means that one is always available."

Ok, but I never stated this so not sure why it is being said to me.

Again, I was speaking about the person who posted that and I was not aware she had 2 different children in 2 different schools.

Agreed. This thread, however, is making me feel lucky about having so many close friends and neighbors willing to be our emergency contacts.

School contact lists were being talked about, but not family on them...thus it was interesting a poster commented on having family nearby is

I think my misunderstanding and Lauren's misunderstanding (that you were talking about your child's middle school) is due to your posting style! When you quote other people it is SOOOOOOOOOO much more helpful if you put your answer separately and in bold or another color. And set off the other person's wording in quotes. The way you respond by putting all the back and forth posting from you & the other person, really makes it difficult to tell what you are saying new in the post. Many times I just don't read posts like yours, since it is difficult to tell what you are adding in.
