Do you celebrate Valentines Day??

Just curious, with Valentines Day approaching, do you do anything special and if so what?

I will get cards for dh and the kids (and sometimes I mail a few out to family and friends) and some goodies for the kids. Dd and ds will each get a box of chocolate, dd is getting some valentine socks and ds is getting a *charlie brown valentine* book. Dh will probably get me flowers-but I told him to just buy me some Tulips from the grocery store this time. He got roses for our anniversary and they didnt last very long...kind of a waste of money, imo.

I got dd some little valentine pens/keychain combos to pass out to her friends. I'll prob get one of the packets of cards for ds to give out.

I work on Valentines Day, so dh and I wont be going out or anything. Although I might see if I can get my dad to babysit on Sunday and we'll go to a movie or something.

We celebrate Valentines Day within the family. . .typically mostly between dh and myself, but due to dh's absence we're sending him valentines from all of us this year and a box with his favorite candy and other stuff.

I'm giving the kids some teddy bears dh has given to me in the past and valentine cards from the two of us. . .to remind them that their daddy loves them.

I'll buy myself some carnations (my favorite flower) because I *know* he'd want me to have some. . . wink, wink.

We are not big on Valentine's Day here - another Hallmark exploit if you ask me.

I would love to "celebrate" V-Day, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards for me.

Just cards for dh and the kids this year. usually i buy them some heartsy boxers and jammies for jaime, but we're tight this year, so they will just get an "i love you" card. dh and i had the day off today, so we are *still* "clean sweeping" the bills and piles and piles of papers, but we stopped and bought the vd cards too.

p.s. while clean sweeping the bills, my less then organized dh found a check for a mere $3200. i am now taking over the finances in this house!

happy vd to you!!! and i dont mean the disease! LOL

The boys get cards and goodie bags with candy. DH gets a card and a bottle of wine and a big smooch. He gets me a card and a bottle of wine and give me a smooch. That's it!! LOL! DS1's birthday is two days after Valentine's Day so we don't make a big deal of VD since we make a bid deal of DS's birthday.

I prefer not to go out on actual Valentine's because it's "amateur" night. Too crowded, too loud. I'd rather go out the day before or after or basically any other night.

DH and I rarely go out, but I think we will since we have a gift certificate for PF Chang's and movie tickets burning holes in our pockets.

DH will get a card from me. My mom will get a card from the boys. The kids in Griffin's class will be a couple treats and a puzzle card. No one else get NUTTIN'.

Yup! I got DS an Elmo Valentine Book and will bake chocolate chip cookies for him and DH. My parents still buy me a Valentine's Day gift, as well (probably underwear or something) and will have something (trucks, probably) for DS.

DH will probably pick up flowers and candy at the last minute like he always does! ;)
