i am FB friends with a couple kids under 13, those requests came from them and i have no issues with it.
I am facebook friends with a number of kids that are friends with my own kids, but none under 13.
i don't really know what groups my kid is in over there, there's a couple pages we are both connected to and i know there are events she gets invited to which is friendly chat with local friends, sometimes it's an irl meet up.

I didn't see anything in the article that advocted removing age restrictions.

I was just friended by the 9 year old daughter of a FB friend. And her mom is listed as her friend, so she knows about it; i.e. she is just fine with her dd lying. I think it's a bad example to set. If it's OK to lie about your age to get a FB account, surely it's OK to lie about other things, right?
i had a program on last night, CNBC or something, and they were talking about that.
