Family night?

Do you (or did you when the kids were at home) have a family night where everyone shuts off their individual computers/games/cellphones and gets together as a family?

Hope you've had a good weekend and I look forward to your feedback!

Us too. We have dinner, at the table, no tv, no phones, etc, every evening. Three nights a week, dh works late and doesn't sit and eat at the same time as the rest of us, but we still sit, together, no distrations.

Yes, they love it, but it gets hard on nites when they have early morning activities on saturdays, so sometimes we will do it on saturdays. When they were little it was a scheduled friday nite event, even if we had a sitter, not as much anymore.

I can't stand Disney and Nick. I can tollerate Nick Jr for my littles on the rare occassion. My kids don't watch much tv though, in general.

In thinking about this further, I realize that we spend quite a bit of time together as family and so far, haven't really needed to designate a specific time for us all to be together for a "family night."

I have recently cut back my childrens t.v time more. They were unhappy with me at first, now, they are outside riding bikes, shooting hoops, doing outside stuff and getting along much better. We were starting to have issues over "M alsways gets to watch his shows or E gets to watch his, it went as far as they were all in seperate rooms watching tv, . not gonna happen.

We don't, but we spend almost all of our time together (and don't really consider ourselves a family) so we have never felt the need to designate a family night.
