Talking about wedding guest attire has made me realize a lot of the fashion guidelines I was raised with are pretty much outdated these days.  Things like guys not wearing  ball caps indoors, women wearing white only between Memorial Day and Labor Day, no LBDs before 5 pm, and hose with every outfit are gone.  Do you adhere to any of these guidelines anymore?  Are there any fashion guidelines you DO adhere to?

Yeah, I'm still usually in my PJs on Sunday mornings at 10am.

Bord--I'm sure my grandmother is rolling in her grave, but I haven't worn hose in in warm weather in over a decade (if it is cold, I wear tights). I don't wear slips. I've been known to wear my white jeans after Labor Day & Memorial Day, but never, ever white shoes. I wear a lot of white in the summer--white dresses, white pants--but I don't wear those after Labor Day. I may bust out a white dress or dress pants in April or May though, esp. if it is warm. If I'm wearing a hat, likely it is b/c my hair isn't fit to be seen, so it's NOT coming off inside. I tend to reserve my LBDs for nighttime use, but honestly, that's more b/c I love color and am a clothes horse than b/c of fashion rules.

I dress up a bit for church, mostly b/c it gives me the opportunity to wear my dressier clothes. Same reason I dressed up for class. But I've worn jeans before. DS wears shorts. I think Jesus cares more about the condition of our hearts than the condition of our clothes...

On Wednesdays we wear pink.

"not everything has to be debated... it's too early in the day ;-) "

Eh.... it was late in the evening, I was waiting on the copier guy.  :)   But one last comment (then I'll stop, I promise, lol)  It wasn't so much about how the RCC dress.... it was the absolutes and double standards in which Jambles consistently applies to any debate.

I know! Everybody go to church this Sunday and take and post pictures, and we'll all vote on which denomination had the most slovenly worshippers. What a dumb argument to be having.

I can't do that bord, sorry.  Before mass begins the greeter kindly requests all technology gadgets be turned off and I absolutely, positively oblige!

Well maybe you can not follow the rules but just pray. Doesn't god always forgive?

Ok... But Sunday best is relative.  What about the boy who only has pants with holes? Or, in the middle of summer, the only shorts he has are the ones he cut off from the pants with holes?  What if he only owns t-shirts, flip flops....?
