1. Are you giving up anything for Lent?

Probably not

2. Did you go away for college or stay home and commute? Did your/will your children go away or commute for college?

I stayed home. Not sure about kids. Still have 2 years to decide.

3. Do you have a certain time you turn on or turn off your heat for the season?

No, if I am cold it goes on, if I am warm, it goes off.

1. Are you giving up anything for Lent? -- No. I don't usually observe Lent.

2. Did you go away for college or stay home and commute? Did your/will your children go away or commute for college? -- I went to a unviersity about 60 miles from home. I lived on campus for three semesters and off for the remainder.  The Girl will go to a university about 45 miles from here and will live on campus.  What The Boy will do is too far off to predict.

3. Do you have a certain time you turn on or turn off your heat for the season -- No. My heating and A/C is based upon the temperature, not the date on the calendar. Although if this continues I will have the heat on until June 15 and then will blast the AC starting on June 16.

We both stayed home.

3. Do you have a certain time you turn on or turn off your heat for the season?

No.  It's currently having the roller-coaster experience, as it's been barefoot weather one day and then snowing the next.

Can I please trade one Arctic blast frigid day for one of your barefoot days? Pretty, pretty please?

Signed,

Why is it still January in March?

1. I'm giving up worrying. At least I'm going to try.

2. I went away, far, far away. My family lived in CA and I came to MA to school. My daughter goes to college about 30 minutes from here. She lives on campus. DS will probably live on campus, too, but no idea where he will go yet.

3. People around here like to brag about how long they wait to turn on the heat. I usually wait until we've had a few cold days in a row, then turn it on. That's usually some time in October.

1. Yes  2. Both 3.  When it gets cold, I turn on the heat.  When it warms up, I turn it off.

1. Are you giving up anything for Lent? Yes.

2. Did you go away for college or stay home and commute? Did your/will your children go away or commute for college? Went away, as did dd. We both went to college in a country other than where we grew up.

My daughter goes to college about 30 minutes from here. She lives on campus.

Can I ask why she doesn't just commute? I have heard some stories lately of kids staying at schools that are close to their homes, some just 15-20 minutes away. Doesn't make sense to me to go that close and not stay home.
