Slater (the fed up flight attendant) has become an overnight symbol of the fed-up wage slave who's just not going to take it anymore.

I wouldn't assume anything.

So you can't say if you think it is likely that he has jeopardized his future earning potential?

I would think he has but you just do not know.

You are aware that flight Attendants do not make much money, correct?

Define "not much money" please. Flight attendant salaries can range from a low of less than $18,090 to a high of more than $83,630 (source). Not bad for a job that typically only requires a high school diploma or GED. Salaries are reportedly based "almost entirely" on seniority and this guy had been one for 20 years. So I'd imagine he was not on the lower end. Since just threw away a 20 year career in a very well publicized event, and no longer looks like a great candidate for working with the public anymore, might be facing an easy conviction (he hasn't denied doing stealing or damaging property, he's on record with reporters and there were many witnesses), I'd say his earning potential has taken a big hit. It doesn't really matter than entry level flight attendants really don't make much money.

I just posted another site which has stated lower pay.

He has not quit his job.

Announcing over the PA system that one is quitting, stealing from one's employer and damaging property to the tune of $25,000 on the way out the door doesn't constitute quitting one's job???

When asked if he was going to lose his job, he replied, "more than likely."

Other people have been convicted for things worse and have gone on with their lives.

I didn't say he wouldn't go on with his life. I said it's likely his earning potential and ability to get a different job has taken a big hit.

Again, you just don't know. These days you get your own reality show and offers for commercials and movies for doing something like this-lol!!

Golly, you're right! He took the afternoon off. He'll be back at JFK for his next scheduled shift. @@

He quit his job.

Huh? You think he's going to die? Commit suicide? Not sure what you mean here.

Other people have been convicted for things worse and have gone on with their lives.>>

OK first, so what? I'm sure he will "go on with " I don't think anyone posited that he was going to End It All. That's why I said "huh?" because if you'll look at your sentence above, the part in red, that's basically what YOU said. Maybe just a typo but I wanted to be sure.

What does that have to do with anything?

Just a fact.>>

Not really; first of all, they don't make much money compared to what? A restaurant server? Bill Gates? Second of all, I see no relevance to the debate with your comment. Can you clarify?

Sorry, I do not see red. Don't you know anyone who has made mistakes in life and went on to something else? You just do not know.

Boy, no wonder some posters get so tied up in tiny details. Please...read the first sentence above. That is yours. You said "...and they DON'T GO ON WITH THEIR LIVES." I was trying to figure out if the "don't" was a mistake or not, and off you went on a tangent.

Please point out where I said people who make mistakes in life don't go on to something else, and that I know this for a fact.

Along those same lines, here's a girl who --no debate about it-- definitely *quit her job. Very funny stuff!

I knew he said "**** you, I've had it", but I didn't realize he actually said the word quit.

Yes, may.
He did work there for 19 years so he might have been making a decent living, not really sure. The town that he lives in is in an upscale neighborhood, upper middle-class community.
