i love reading with my 1st grader, there's the homework argument too.
"saturday is one day we all pitch in, the kids and their rooms, DH ( if he's "off" ), the floors and the day i pull out *gasp* pledge and other trigger sprays to clean."
If those are the only chores being done on Saturday then it sounds like Saturday is not the only chore day.
I think most of us read your Saturday is chore day to mean that all or the majority of chores are done on Saturday not a few. If that were the case then it would take up a lot of the day.

I thought the stereotype was that SAHMs watched soap operas and ate bonbons all day, not that they cleaned the house.
