So I heard a lot of chanting at school yesterday about tomorrow (today) being pay day, Woot!  Ha, That doesn't mean a lot to me but some of those teachers make good money and b/w that and the slip ins about money in a couple threads here I thought a thread would be fun..

How often are you/your DH paid

Do you discuss finances with your children?  To what extent?

Are you a spender or a saver

A bubble that knows nothing? I think bubbles know nothing by definition. This is a phrase that will live in infamy. I feel a meme coming on.

OMG, Financial planners clean up messes? Lol. But I agree that people with money to invest aren't running to a financial planner, they've got a CPA or trusted lawyer that helps them with their books.

I can't tell if it's tinder or not. Other newbies seem to know a lot of the history behind this board too, Lol.

Now I'm very confused.  Isn't this your thread?  Didn't you ASK if we were savers or spenders?  If you can't tell by what we write on message boards, why would you ask?  Was this entire thread just a set up so you or others could attack people based on what they replied?

I don't think this board is for me, if the entire purpose behind such posts is to behave in such an ugly way.

We have a little money, and we do use a CPA to look over our tax returns after we've prepared them, just to make sure we've done it all correctly. But we also use the services of two different financial planners. We have one guy we've used for about 25 years, and we pay him a small commission on trades. A few years back a guy DH went to school with came to town and called DH and he did have a few good ideas for us after doing a free financial health check, so we set up a smaller account with him. One of our kids uses him for trades and set up a retirement account with him, too. He has so far been doing this for free because my son amuses him.

This hasn't been a good debate. I always learn something in a good debate. This has just been vicious sniping.
