So I heard a lot of chanting at school yesterday about tomorrow (today) being pay day, Woot!  Ha, That doesn't mean a lot to me but some of those teachers make good money and b/w that and the slip ins about money in a couple threads here I thought a thread would be fun..

How often are you/your DH paid

Do you discuss finances with your children?  To what extent?

Are you a spender or a saver

We still live in a "starter" home (18 years later) and don't plan to move. Once the kids move out, it will be a "big" house for just the 2 of us. lol.

we hope to sell and move after our daughter is launched as well.. we have a small 1300 sqf condo now but I would like to live in a smaller town , not a city, and i'd like to be back on the water, so we hope for  a small cottage somewhere in Maine.. ;-)  dreaming and looking is a wonderful passtime.. we follow alot of "for sale" signs whenever we visit Maine  LOL

It does depend on what you consider good money to mean, Teacher salaries are public information and some new hire salaries are even published on our website, It's decent.  Some teachers trained in specific fields like special ed and speech/language are making in the neighborhood of 70K+ too which I consider good for the profession.

I don't know anybody that goes into to teaching to get rich.

I have a small(er) sized home Regina compared to many people. $300,000 is a lot for what I do have though where as in other areas you can get a lot more for a lot less.

But isn't that the price of living where you do? Again--location. It is all relative. Of course you'd have a lot more house for a lot less, but then you'd be in another area and not where you are now. I'm guessing you live there for a reason...

Your house is 3200 SF then... Thanks. I have no interest in a house that big.
