So I heard a lot of chanting at school yesterday about tomorrow (today) being pay day, Woot! Ha, That doesn't mean a lot to me but some of those teachers make good money and b/w that and the slip ins about money in a couple threads here I thought a thread would be fun..

How often are you/your DH paid

Do you discuss finances with your children? To what extent?

Are you a spender or a saver

Teachers have to deal with parents too and it is much worse now to be a teacher. I have many teacher friends and I don't envy them.

Teachers deal with an awful lot, Yes.

That's fine. I have a rather skewed perception of personal finance in general b/c of the nature of DH's job. Therefore it takes a lot (net worth and income-wise) to impress me. Yet another reason I haven't gone back to work...</p>

I'm not saying this to be snarky, but your husband's income is in what, the top 1-5% of earners in the US? Your perception of making good money is definitely going to be a lot different from mine!

Oh, Is that where she was going... Anyone that perceives good money only by one's own income bracket is rather shallow if you ask me.

Are you calling me shallow? Because it sounds like you are. And that's a personal attack. Moreover, I did not realize that using one's own personal experience to form opinions was shallow. Personal experience shades most people's opinions, Jam. At least I'm upfront about it and recognize my biases.

We don't ever have stuff on the stairs (unless The Cat counts, lol). But what I don't like - from a housekeeping standpoint - is vacuuming the stairs. So it very rarely happens.

It is interesting that admitting one's experience skews their perspective is shallow, but stating all of obe's habits, preferences, and choices in comparison to others is not.

"If I had 5 kids and an almost 4,000 sq ft house, I too would have to have others help me."----------------------------------------- Who is this to? I haven't seen anyone say that they have 5 kids or a 4000sf home.

Ok, so it was to me...not Regina (whose home is 3500sf). Neither one of us has five kids, I'm not sure where you are getting your information from. But, I would prefer that you stop trying to make the debate personal.
