So I heard a lot of chanting at school yesterday about tomorrow (today) being pay day, Woot!  Ha, That doesn't mean a lot to me but some of those teachers make good money and b/w that and the slip ins about money in a couple threads here I thought a thread would be fun..

How often are you/your DH paid

Do you discuss finances with your children?  To what extent?

Are you a spender or a saver

I see a variety of investment accounts and with the exception of bank products, there is a monthly fee.  Only the simple bank products (money market, checking, savings, etc) don't carry a monthly fee based on balance because the bank isn't actively managing the accounts.

Very true, I review a variety of investments in my daily work and the fees often vary and some are neogiated on a yearly basis.

OMG, Financial planners clean up messes? Lol. But I agree that people with money to invest aren't running to a financial planner, they've got a CPA or trusted lawyer that helps them with their books.

Most people I know that have money to invest use a financial planner, as well as a cpa and lawyers.  They all do different jobs and expecting one to do the job of the other would be pretty foolish.

Our investments don't have an annual fee b/c we keep over the minimum in them.

I don't have annual fees on my checking or savings accounts, but pretty much all investment accounts (401K Roth IRA, IRA, 403b) have some kind of fee no matter the balance.  Some funds have higher fees than others, but they all have fees.

Now that was a much needed Broadway fix. Thanks Bea.

CPAs, lawyers, and financial planners all do three very different jobs. You can't interchange the three. And of those three, only a CPA might deal help someone with "their books".

My investment about has the fee regardless of balance. My passbook savings and checking account fees would be waived if we stayed over the mom though. But not the investment accounts.
