So I heard a lot of chanting at school yesterday about tomorrow (today) being pay day, Woot!  Ha, That doesn't mean a lot to me but some of those teachers make good money and b/w that and the slip ins about money in a couple threads here I thought a thread would be fun..

How often are you/your DH paid

Do you discuss finances with your children?  To what extent?

Are you a spender or a saver

How often are you/your DH paid  Twice a month

Do you discuss finances with your children?  To what extent? A little bit.  Things like, if we buy this thing this month, we can't buy that thing until next month. We need to start doing allowances. DD is finally big enough to understand money a little bit.

Are you a spender or a saver Probably more of a spender than a saver, although I've gotten better and I've never been super crazy with the spending.

DH and I are both on 9 month contracts, so we get paid monthly nine times er year. Unless one of us gets a grant or teaches summer school, we have no salary coming in three months a year. We taught our children financial literacy from a fairly early age. We tend to be savers, but have no problem sending money on necessary things or occasional splurges. For instance, we are planning a trip driving across western Canada this summer. Most of the trip we will stay in cheap motels, but at the end we are planning on staying at a nice (read expensive) B&B for four days. We will still keep the average hotel expense to less than $100 per night.
