Our JCP furniture store is still open.

I feel just the opposite about furniture, I'd rather spend $$$ for quality pieces that can take a beating than buy cheap stuff that will fall apart quicker, But that's something I learned from my mom who never sacrificed quality for price.

1.  What did you last eat--raspberry yogurt & milk for breakfast

2.  What is for dinner tonight--Slider style burgers and french fries

3.  What is the most expensive piece(s) of furniture you own and how long have you had it--Probably my oak dining room table.  It's solid oak and has 2 table leaves to add in and make it very huge.  10 people can sit around it comfortably, but we leave it small most of the time and it's still probably 6 feet long.  There are 2 pedestals legs underneath.  I got it when the kids were small, so maybe about 2002.

4.  What is your clothing style--I don't know, casual/dressy.  Today i am wearing blue jeans, a rose colored long sleeve shirt and dark blue Dansko's.  I'm at work but a little more casual than normal--its Friday and next week is spring break.  Yay!

5.  What are your weekend plans--not too much so far.  Both girls are having someone sleep over.  I'm going to the gym tomorrow and agreed to take dd2 and her friend or 2 that will sleep over.  Dd1 is babysitting at my house for my friend for awhile, so I guess I'll visit with my friend a bit, she gets to go to Hawaii this week.  The gym time might have to coincide with the time that the little terror is at my house, lol.   After that no plans.

Don't forget to change your clocks ahead this weekend--thanks, hadn't thought of that much this week.

We don't have a crib anymore (obviously, Lol) but DS' dresser was his oldest sister's dresser when she was born, Still perfect condition! He can take that to his dorm when he goes off to college and I'm convinced it will last that long...

We used the changing table/dresser for my ds for a few years until we go him all new bedroom furniture. He can take it with him some day when he has a home of his own.

We have gone both way.  In our military years we bought mainly cheap furniture in part because that was what we could afford but also be moving (especially overseas moving) can be very hard on furniture.  Even high quality furniture can be damaged if dropped etc.

Now that we are no longer moving every couple of years and can afford more will spend more for things that we like.

1.  What did you last eat

Fish cake and fresh vegetables

2.  What is for dinner tonight

Fish cake and fresh vegetables (we just had dinner :-)).

3.  What is the most expensive piece(s) of furniture you own and how long have you had it

I suspect it's the kitchen table and chairs that date back to the 1850s.  They're from my grandfather's farm and were purchased by my great-great-grandfather (if I remember correctly).

4.  What is your clothing style

Hmmm...that's a tough one.  Maybe Scandi chic, if there is such a thing?  Today I'm wearing a light grey skirt made from jean material, a thin, black long-sleeve shirt, and a wool crochet dark grey/black sweater, and my favorite new black, leather, lace-up ankle boots.

5.  What are your weekend plans

No really exciting plans: cleaning, visiting friends, hanging out.

*Don't forget to change your clocks ahead this weekend*

We don't change the time yet :-).

Did professional movers move you when you were in the military?

We've never moved ourselves, The movers always packed and bubble wrapped everything for us, And some of hte bubble krap was so tight that it would take a day just to un-do it, ugh, Lol. My kids are hard on furniture but the pieces we have can take that beating and I'd rather furniture NOT fall apart!
