2.  What is for dinner tonight

3.  What is the most expensive piece(s) of furniture you own and how long have you had it

4.  What is your clothing style

5.  What are your weekend plans

That gift card doesn't expire but it's getting a little gray around the corners, Lol.

Maybe you should mention that to him, in a nice way and then let him know what you WOULD want and WOULD use.

The worst part for me is that the only person who ever gives me gift cards (or gifts, for that matter) is my son.  And he doesn't let me out of my sight, so he knows if I've used them or not.  I don't want to discourage him from giving me gifts (it took until 2 years ago before he even did that) but gift cards are so easily out-of-sight-out-of-mind for me.  One year he gave me an Overstock GC and I finally had to order a boatload of yarn from them to get him off my back.  ;)  I also detest shopping online, so that particular one made me feel very pressured.

Same here. I recently cashed in 5 years worth of Bath & Body Works gift cards, and got a year's supply, at least, of hand soap, body lotion, etc. I have Starbucks cards, swimwear cards, restaurant cards, Home Depot cards, etc. I now keep them in a special wallet in my purse, but I still rarely get to the places I need to go to cash them in. :-/  There is a website out there where you can trade or sell gift cards; can't think of the name...

Shaking my head at the things grown women get their panties in a wad about.

Jam-is there an "expiration" date on the gc you have? I know some have them and some don't.

My usual gift for "older" people, who don't need things are restaurant gift cards.

The oldest g/c I have is probably from Banana Republic, I still have a small balance on it but I haven't been there in a very long time.

I have to be reminded to use GC's.  I don't think I've used but one or two (of the whole maybe 6 or 7 that I've ever received) before they expired.

Lol, Regifting. I have to admit that I never used a $100.00 day spa g/c and it expired a year after the Christmas date I got it (many years ago). Part of that was b/c it was a local salon in my hometown and I never made the time to use it, But also b/c day spas arne't my thing, I forgot what happened to it. My sister might have taken it or passed it on to somebody else. But I agree with you, I don't generally get g/cards to places I will never use.

This is why retailers LOVE gift cards. I read a couple of years ago that something like a third of them are never redeemed.   I've got over $500 of gift cards just sitting in my drawer.  I had more, but one of the stores I had a gift card to went out of business last month.  Bummer.
