"No, I'm staying put this winter, and the Gulf is too cold to water-ski. ;p" ------ Now that I have never tried. It would scare me silly, lol.

"The warmest boots I own are fake uggs that I got from Costco. lol. They are sheep-skined lined and I wear them to anything that I will be outside for hours." ------ I had some fake uggs that were intended for slippers, but I used them as boots when I had to go to Copenhagen in winter. Also great on planes.

They are really comfy and warm. They are my go to for every cold football game and anything I need to be outside for, for more than a couple of minutes.

"Never tried it. I still have knee problems from when I fell roller-skating in 1978. I think I should leave skating alone." --- Yikes! Definitely sounds wise for you to leave skates alone. I would love to skate again, but with my messed up back it may be unwise for me too.

I don't have any boots but I was thinking about getting a pair this winter. But there are two or three other pairs of shoes I actually need at this point, so I probably won't.

1. Are you planning to go skiing this winter?

No, I'm staying put this winter, and the Gulf is too cold to water-ski. ;p

2. When is the last time you ice-skated? (Did you fall?)

A few years ago when I went up north for my 25th HS reunion.  No, I didn't fall, but I had friends around to catch me when I wobbled.

3. Any new winter coat this year, if so please describe?

I haven't bought a "winter" coat for a long time, as it rarely dips below 40 here, and when it does even get that cold it's only for a few days. My last coat was bought by my mother; it's a grey mid-length lined jacket of suede-like material (probably a poly blend).

4. Favorite winter footwear?

Ugg. J/K, I am so not into brand name anything. I see a pair of boots I like, they seem reasonably priced and fit well, I buy them.

5. Favorite winter soup? (Recipe?)

Tastefully Simple's Creamy Wild Rice soup. Add water and simmer. ;)

1. Are you planning to go skiing this winter?

Nope.

2. When is the last time you ice-skated? (Did you fall?)

Never tried it.  I still have knee problems from when I fell roller-skating in 1978.  I think I should leave skating alone.

3. Any new winter coat this year, if so please describe?

No...I so rarely wear a coat that whatever one I have usually lives out most of the winter in the back seat of my car.

4. Favorite winter footwear?

Don't really have any.

5. Favorite winter soup? (Recipe?)

I have a corn chowder recipe that I like.  I also have a pretty good one for ham and potato soup but I really have to be in the mood for that one.  I make soup all year round, though.  Ice cream, too.  Someone here (I think it may have been faduckeggs...yeah, it's been a while) once flipped out about that.  The temperature inside is always the same so if I want something, I have it, regardless of the season.

These will be my newest boots. I usually get 1-2 pairs every year. My dh thinks I have too many boots. I said NO ONE can have TOO many boots (or shoes for that) lololol.

I also want to get a pair of (short with heels) booties to go with leggings and skinny jeans and pants.

My son has an invite to spend Spring break in Colorado with friends, snowboarding, which he prefers to skiing. He wants to go but I am a little sad because it's the "last" Spring break.
