Bananas -- The Kids and dh either eat them all within 1-2 days ... or they sit and turn brown. There seems to be no in-between. I have 6-8 of them (after starting to turn brown) in the freezer right now, waiting to become bread, pancakes or smoothies.

1). I have always taught my kids that they are no more or less special than anyone else in the world. It seems to have worked in that tthey've turned out to be pretty nice, well-grounded people. 2) I can't think of a supermarket item we can't get enough of. It might be juice because my kids love it but I won't buy more than two 64 oz jugs a week. I tell them it is supposed to last them all week but it never does. Oh well, too bad, so sad. 3). Yes, I would quit my job for a million dollars. Then I would give it all to the university to create an andowed chair in my field so they could hire me back at twice my salary for the next fifteen years and they'd still have money left to hire someone else at an enhanced salary when I left. 4). No big family vacation, but younger son and I took a five day trip out to something called Spacefest earlier this month. It was a conference on space, including sessions on space history, astronomy, and the future of space exploration. Six of the living nine men who have walked on th moon were there and my son got to meet them all, as well as six other Apollo astronauts, Skylab astronauts, and a few of the shuttle guys. He got to sit next to the tenth man on the moon for dinner one night. It was pretty amazing. Then I drove him down to Huntsville for Space Camp. He has an internship at the Johnson Space Center in Houston later this summer. The other son is working at a local newspaper this summer but only part time. He has also been subbing for vacationing guitar players in local bands. I am busy getting the house in shape to throw him a big old going away party before he leaves for college.

My kids go through grapes (or really most fruits) like crazy, too.
