This board has been quite dead this week. We need some fluff :-p

1. How many days do you get off from work per year? How many do you plan to take? Can you roll over any to the next year?

2. Did you go school shopping for your kids yet? (school supplies, school clothes).

3. What color polish do you currently have on your fingernails and toe nails?

4. What are you wearing today?

5. Any plans for the weekend?

could you post anywhere that it's written that others have to mind that you ask hideously personal questions before I'm permitted to object? I'll wait here. Thanks!

Asking someone how much their yearly salary is....is personal.

Asking someone how many days they are entitled to take off at work...is not personal.

personal leave, vacation, sick time--these are all parts of one's compensation package, which means they ARE how much people are paid. So yes, you DID ask about people's salary.

Others didn't mind your personal questions. I did.

Given that you *claim* it's okay if I mind, you're making a pretty ridiculous stink over the fact that I mind.

You asked a personal question. Own it.

I didn't say you would know how much I make. I said, it was a personal question about my pay. Which it is. That makes it an intrusive and offensive. You asked it. That means you asked an intrusive, offensive personal question.

own it and get over it already. If you're looking for absolution, I suggest your church. You won't be getting it from me.

1. How many days do you get off from work per year? How many do you plan to take? Can you roll over any to the next year?

N/A

2. Did you go school shopping for your kids yet? (school supplies, school clothes).

We got the school supplies for the elementary school kids, which is unusual. I'm usually doing that at the last minute. I don't buy back to school clothes before school starts. The first few weeks it's hot so ODD just wears her summer clothes. This also gives her a couple weeks to see what other kids are into wearing, so she's aware of the latest trends when we actually do go shopping.

3. What color polish do you currently have on your fingernails and toe nails?

None.

4. What are you wearing today?

Friday I wore jeans and a blue and white t-shirt, plus brown sandals.

5. Any plans for the weekend?

We hosted a party for band camp last night, and we had over 100 kids at our house, all outside though swimming, hanging around the pool, playing volleyball and later starting a bon fire. Dh made burgers and hot dogs, plus a chicken/shrimp dish, and cream puffs for dessert. I cleaned before, during and after. Everyone was up really late so not doing much this morning. Tonight I am hoping dh and I can go out for an evening alone to celebrate the end of my summer semester which was really, really tough. Sunday I think our only plans are going to church. I have some reading to do for the upcoming semester, but other than the normal kids, laundry, cleaning that's about it.

Whether or not a person considers the question too personal isn't really an issue. It's a fluff thread. If they are comfortable answering a question, they can. If they're not comfortable answering it, there is nobody holding a gun to their head saying "Post your information in this fluff thread or else". I don't understand why a person who minded wouldn't just say "no comment" or "I prefer not to answer" or simply choose not to participate in that question.
