2. Do you wear perfume? Favorite?

Now coney island dogs from anywhere other than southern Michigan are NOT the same!  LOL.  Everywhere else jut puts chili on them &amp; it is not the same.  Maybe Emptynester has had those &amp; know what I mean?</p>

that's silly.   If it just has chili on it, it's just a chili dog. To be a coney you have to have the "slaw" and/or onions. And mustard.   I haven't had any in Michigan but we have a couple places 'round here that do excellent coneys.

"By the way, when you refer to NY bagels, what do you mean? Bagels found in NYC, bagels found in Long Island, bagels found upstate? All of those places?" -------- I was wondering too. I always thought of NY bagels as being NYC bagels basically. Never occurred to me that you could get them upstate, for example, but maybe you can.

You can get a bagel in probably every state. Heck, you can buy bagels from the grocery store, fresh, bagged or frozen.

I suspect that this is the key to the bagel experience.  It's not just the taste of the bagel that people associate with New York, but the whole experience of being in the city, the sights, sounds, smells, associated tastes, etc.  I honestly doubt that if you blind taste tested people, that they'd be able to pick out the good New York-produced bagel from the good bagel produced elsewhere.   I am that way with certain foods.  I never want a hot dog unless I am at the ball park or in Chicago and I see a street vendor.   I drink coffee in the United States and in Italy, and tea in Great Britain and Ireland.  Coffee in the British Museum or the Institute for Historical Research is just wrong!  (Even though they have perfectly good coffee shops everywhere in London!)  And I eat more bread in a summer in France than I do the whole rest of the year at home.

I have to disagree. I think things taste different in different parts of the U.S. and world.

1.  Not wearing purple, but I am wearing jeans to show my solidarity with rape victims.  And, because they are comfortable and I've been wearing them pretty much every day to celebrate my freedom this year.

I would love to wear jeans everyday. I am sure I would get tired of them though and want to dress up but it sounds good when you can't. lol.

You don't have to have them on a regular basis to understand which is better.  I know what bagels I've had in my home area and whenver I had one in NY or NJ was disappointed that it was not better.  Most were as good or close to as good.  But I don't have to live there to eat one every day to compare and see.  Now the BEST bagel I ever had was a homemade bagel by someone who brought them to our office.  I ate at least 3--now they were the best, even had a little piece of onion on top, as they were onion bagels.

I bet your inlaws would disagree Wink

Well, it's been a year!  I occasionally dress up when I have to go to a meeting or something, and of course church on Sunday, but I am not tired of wearing jeans to the office yet.

Nice!!! Laughing

We used to have a summer dress code but they did away with that so you can wear "summer" things all year long if you want. I thought maybe they would make it optional to wear jeans everyday and was excited to go shopping for more. lol. We haven't crossed that yet though as we have too many big companies and places that come in to the building so I guess they don't want the company to look "that" casual. Fridays we can wear jeans though which was a change from when I first started when it wan't like that and then went to every other week to every week.
