Ditto, most of the important stuff I taught her myself anyway.
I'm not following you here, test rats? Like in a lab where companies do tests on them for their products? While I think that is wrong, I'm not getting the connection between test rats and public/private schools.
I think overall school success depends on so many things: teachers, school, community, staff, area and so forth, not just the kids. Kids success depends on so many things too and can happen in the worst of schools just as kids failures can happen in the best of schools.

My kids love learning. I am not concerned with grades, so much as I am with my kids having critical thinking skills and having the ability to learn something that interest them, or that is somehow important to them and their lives (occupationally or personally). I have one child that is a B/C student, and who works her a$$ off. The others are mostly A students. My kids are fairly average, and I'm okay with that.
I will admit to the fact that we don't have the means for private school, so that's never been an option. I would have liked to have had an option at different times over the years.....but we just do the best we can with what we've got.
And to note here, you can't confuse hostility with debate.

I wouldn't even go that far, some posters have tried to debate the choices of others for their kids and make it personal but that doesn't mean that there has been debate between private and public schools. We all do try and make the best choices for our kids and most times its only a few posters that try and make it personal.

Disagreement does not equal hate.
Debate does not equal hostility.
Seems so basic, yet many people are easily confused.
I don't recall anyone ever using that word but still in that context, no I don't see how that would be offensive to parents who choose public school. You are confusing issues, being against state testing doesn't mean that one doesn't like public school, it means they don't like state mandated testing. I am against the testing they do in my state (and no, I didn't use that word that I recall) I am very much in support of public school in general.
