Seems like there are a lot of new posters, introductions?.....

-what does your poster name mean?

-what is your favorite room in your house?

That's why rich kids need not be reminded of how "special" they are.

It's not enough to only disagree with the system, Puss.

Sav, we have started the college process too, what a wild ride so far.  The boy/man started out choosing colleges far and wide from home but as the time comes closer he is choosing closer and closer.  I find that interesting, but we have let him develop the pattern on his own for the most part.  It will be interesting to see where he ends up for college.

What's wrong with, "You are no more, or no less, special than any other person sharing the planet with you?" That's what I have always told my kids. Also, "Your father and I think you're special just because you're ours. Don't expect the whole world to share that sentiment, though."

I keep telling my oldest that while he is my son, he isn't the sun so stop acting like we all need to revolve around you!  Of course some days it gets through better than others...

I know. That was my point.

As much as I will insist she consider other options, I'm 80% sure The Girl will end up at the place she's been talking about.

However, I'm still planning to explore study abroad options for her first year. 'Twould be a shame to waste the opportunity for her to study in Germany or somewhere close since her dad will be right there.
