I only know what VB stuff looks like because of the discussions here. IRL I have only seen it on middle-aged cruise tourists, the type that wears mom jeans and decorated cardigans.
No young girls at your college toting them around? Maybe it IS a regional thing then, This is the one my kid has (but different pattern). I think it's time to hang up mine b/c I see more kids with them!

Bord, lol, it was no insult. If it makes you feel any better, my usually chic 20yo dd just ordered a pair of fleece-lined mom jeans from LLBean.
Pretty sure it's regional. I've never seen one.
I'm going to have to agree here, my 15 old woudn't use the stuff either. I find that it's pretty popular among some of the moms, older moms who don't like a more polished look but like ruffless and such.
Disclaimer: Nothing wrong with ruffles or a non polished look.

What would a young teen or college student tote in that bag? Most kids I know use a backpack of some variety or a durable sports bag. Something like that wouldn't hold up to daily use, ime. My aunt carries here knitting in something like that though...

My own 13 year old has one look alike VB wristlet for her phone and money and school id... she has some friends who like it but up here they all seem to like Coach (for reason I can't fathom, but i'm hardly the target market for designer handbags) we splurged on the world's tiniest Coach Wristlet for her for the holidays and she was in heaven ...
Lasagna? "Quick" pasta sauce? TV evangelists? TV evangelists who eat lasagna?

DD has the wristlet too, I don't know if she'll find it in Vera but I've told her to start looking for a handbag additional to the small wallet and big school tote she has, She needs an evening thing to carry money, personal things in when she goes out... For now, its just stuffed in her pocket.
