Plans for the weekend?

What did you think of the Golden Globe winners and Oscar noms?

Is there some big event happening in your life in 2014? Any major plans you're looking foward to?

What unusual stuff is going on at work right now?

Plans for the weekend?

Running kids around, going to get my phone upgraded, food shopping, football, of course, hubby going to concert so he is going to miss the 2nd game. Ds and I will watch :)

What did you think of the Golden Globe winners and Oscar noms?

Didn't watch, only heard about the Wolf of Wall Street (which if no one is aware, do NOT take your kids to lol)

Dd turning 16, celebrating that with family and maybe friends. I am sure she will want to go and get her permit then too Surprised

What unusual stuff is going on at work right now?

Nothing unusual, same ole' stuff. lol.

What did you think of the Golden Globe winners and Oscar noms? I only looked at the GG dresses lol, don't know who won. No idea about the Oscars.

Is there some big event happening in your life in 2014? Any major plans you're looking foward to? Dd is graduating college in July, so I think that counts. Also, my nephew is having his confirmation in the spring. I am tentatively planning to attend both events.

What unusual stuff is going on at work right now? Hmmm, nothing more unusual than the usual unusual :D

Nothing new, movie night, grocery shopping and church will fall in there.  I'd love to see Devil's due but DH said we should just wait until it comes to video, Lol, The promoting of it in NYC cracks me up!  I watch award shows for the fashion nothing else, DD2 is a younger Drew Barrymore in so many ways and she hates when I say that to her but it's true, I think Drew is a doll (and so is my dd of course).  Yes!!  Unusual as in out of the ordinary?  Yes (but not work related).

Plans for the weekend? -- The Boy, dh and I are going to hear Canadian Brass tonight.   The Boy has a bowling tournament, out of town, so he and I will go on Sat morning and stay overnight, returning Sun afternoon.  We'll go out to eat, go see a Harry Potter library exhibit, go to the movies, may buy him a new trumpet .. somewhat fun ('cept the bowling part, lol).  Then dh and I have a tequila tasting to attend Sun night.  And no plans for the day off on Monday. YAY!

What did you think of the Golden Globe winners and Oscar noms? -- I'm so disappointed (and ashamed) that I've seen only one of the nominated films (in just about any category). American Hustle - and it was fab.  I need to go on a mission to watch them all. I'm rooting for August Osage County for a lot of stuff - mainly because it was filmed in Osage County - Oklahoma.

Is there some big event happening in your life in 2014? Any major plans you're looking foward to? -- The Girl graduates! WAHHH!  And goes off to college! WAHHHH!  I have such mixed emotions about all of that.

What unusual stuff is going on at work right now? -- I'm in charge of  my professional development organization's regional meeting in April.  Man, that's a lot of work. It's a good experience.  I have a great committee, but it's still a lot of work.  May 8th will be a very independent day for me (the day after it's over.)

Black/white, DD1 is 16 1/2 now and she goes through spurts about driving, She has been incredibly busy with school work and other things that it's fallen by the wayside. again... And that's perfectly fine with me, I am no hurry for her to get it, Lol.. A friend of mine's daughter didn't get her license until she graduated from h/s, Honestly she never needed it before then and now she needs it b/c she goes away to college.

Ugghhh..I am NOT looking forward to it AT ALL. She will be going to a driving school too as I am NOT getting in the car with her. lol. We went to a college night last night at school (she is just a sophmore) and it was interesting but not looking forward doing all the work to get into college and financing it. lol. Right now she is all over the place what she wants to study so luckily she has time to think about it and maybe just do a community college in the beginning to get a better idea.

School starts on Tuesday so I will just be working through the weekend. I've only seen one movie all year; there are a couple nominated for Best Picture that I actually would like to see. My "baby" should be graduating and going off to school. Very mixed feelings there. We are planning on spending a month in eastern Canada for vacation and I'm going to Europe for a month this summer for work. It's graduate admissions season, which is the busiest and most contentious time of the year. Also, I'm president of an organization and in charge of holding its annual conference on campus at the end of February.

Oh, and my newest new employee starts in 2 weeks. That will be FIVE people that I have hired and trained in 16 months. This is getting tiring! But, we will be fully staffed - and an expanded staff at that (one of the hires was into a newly created position).
