Plans for the weekend?

What did you think of the Golden Globe winners and Oscar noms?

Is there some big event happening in your life in 2014? Any major plans you're looking foward to?

What unusual stuff is going on at work right now?

Then they say they don't have winter clothes. Last time I checked, you could buy some online if you can't find them at a store by you. lol.

Oh yeah, any Walmart or Target will have some winter clothing. And Goodwill if all else fails.

Yep. One of my friends said today that her son doesn't even own a pair of pants. How could that be and how stupid are you for not having some available for him? lol.

My nephew may be coming over to play with DS.

Haven't been paying attention.

Yup.  :)

Not really unusual, but I'm on the committee that reviews all of our departmental faculy files and makes recommendations for promotion and retention to the Dean and Provost.  There are 40+ files that have to be read and letters to be written-- all by the end of February.  It involves hours of reading and tons of meetings.  It is interesting to see what all of my colleagues do though.

The only pants that my second son would willingly wear for years on end was when he was required to dress up for formal events or to play in the orchestra.  Other than that, he would wear shorts year round.   I always had a pair in his size hanging in the closet in case CPS came around because someone reported him for being underdressed for the weather, I could at least say, "Look!  He owns long pants!  He just won't wear them!"

And I am speaking of someone who has the money to buy the pants, not someone who is trying to cut back on things not needed. Her husband works for a major league baseball team. lol.

Ditto.

And, at several point throughout the year, when he has outgrown all his pants, I could easily say that, at that moment, he didn't own a pair.

Basically its for financial aid, we won't qualify for the need based but need to fill it out for the merit based stuff.  PIA, imo.

Not that long for us, I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet, my youngest driving and independent. This week with all of his activites, I'm looking forward to him driving on a regular basis, but I know I will miss the time in the car together and another car in the driveway to move around, lol.
