Getting out the door in the morning

Looking for some suggestions to help morning times go a little more smoothly around here!


My 5yo & 3yo are able to get up, get dressed, and get downstairs... with minimal amounts of cajoling & a healthy dose of siliness from us.

Vegetarian. Gardener. Book reader. Writer. Music lover. Breastfeeder. Attachment parent. Montessori mom. Peacenik. Opinionated. Mostly green. Quite crunchy.

It's not that they aren't capable. It's that they are too young to expect it to be done alone in a timely fashion (your time, not theirs) while you are on another floor of the house. I can see brushing teeth downstairs as that eliminates a second trip upstairs. And I can certainly see why shoes get put on last now that you have explained that they are by the front door.
